Anafiotika
This is a very small glimpse of Anafiotika neighborhood, found in Plaka, Athens.
These Anafiotika photos definitely testify that this place looks like an island in Athens!
Anafiotika, situated on the northeast slope of the Acropolis, is the last remnant of a the residential history of Athens.
It was built by stone masons from the Cyclades island of Anafi in the 1800's, that were rumoured to be the best in Greece. They came to Athens, to help at its reconstruction when declared the Capital of the new state.
